RSR200 Recorder Manual
Main Window

Destination Folder
The RSR200 Recorder will write I/Q recordings into this directory. If
the checkbox "create new sub-folder..." is set, RSR200 Recorder
will create a sub-folder for each recording session.
SDR Configuration
See here.
Scheduler
Enter start and stop time, then enable the scheduler.
Optionally, enter a second start and stop time to record a second
interval; leave both fields empty if unused. The two intervals must not
overlap or directly adjoin, otherwise the scheduler is not enabled.
RSR200 Recorder will prevent the PC from going into hibernation until the recording is done (Windows only).
If you click "Disable Scheduler" while a recording is ongoing, the recording will continue until "Stop Recording" is selected.
Set Checkbox "Repeat schedule every day" if this is your desire. In
this case, hibernation is permanently disabled as long as RSR200
Recorder is running (Windows only).
Set Checkbox "Top-Of-Hour Recording" to record only around the full
hours between start and stop time (both inclusive), e.g. for station
identifications. Each full hour is recorded from the given number of
seconds before until the given number of seconds after the full hour,
as a separate recording. Example: start 06:00, stop 08:00, 60 seconds
before, 120 seconds after records 05:59:00-06:02:00, 06:59:00-07:02:00
and 07:59:00-08:02:00. If "create new sub-folder" is set, all
recordings between one start and stop time are placed in the same
sub-folder. Tasks scheduled before or after a recording are
executed for each of these recordings.
Manual recording
Start and stop the recording when you want.
SDR Configuration

With firmware version up to 221, the bandwidth must be a multiple of 500 kHz (1.5 MHz, 2.0 MHz, 2.5 MHz etc).
Since firmware version 222, the bandwidth can be set in 100 kHz steps (1.1 MHz, 1.2 MHz, 1.3 MHz etc).
The minimum possible bandwidth is 1.1 MHz.
In automatic attenuation mode, the RSR200B automatically adds an extra
16dB of attenuation in case an overload occurs. The attenuation is
automatically reset to the original value once the overload condition
ended and the hold time has elapsed. This feature requires firmware rev. 225 or newer and is only
possible if 24-bit data width is selected.
The hold time (default 10 ms) sets how long the extra attenuation is kept after the overload. It is
counted in ADC clocks, so its maximum depends on the bandwidth.
The correction factor (14..18 dB, default 16 dB) is the amount by which the samples are corrected
while the extra attenuation is active. The automatic attenuator is nominally 16 dB but differs slightly
from device to device; trim this value if the signal level jumps when the automatic attenuation engages.
Dual-channel recordings are only possible when the Linrad format is used.
The Winrad format is very popular and supported by most SDR software.
Advanced Configuration
You find this in the menu under "File".

Enter commands you want to execute before of after a recording session.
Use one line for each entry.
Several task types are supported:
%wait_seconds=<delay>
Wait the defined amount of seconds until execution continues
%if ['not'] <condition> ['and' ['not'] <condition>] ...
The next task's ececution is conditional. The following conditions exist:
schedule:
Start or end of scheduled recording (even if manually stopped)
manual: Start or end of manual recording
success: A recording was performed successfully
test: Set when clicking the "Run/Test Tasks" button
Everything in the %if line must be lower-case
%rem [<command>]
Use to disable a command
http://<url>
https://<url>
A HTTP request is performed. Use this to control web-devices.
Everything else...
is being assumed to be a command / program call
Tasks support placeholders. A placeholder will be replaced by a predefined content. Currently only one placeholder exists:
%f% : I/Q file
If file
splitting is enabled, %f% will be replaced with the path to the folder
constining the recordings.
If file
splitting is disabled, %f% will be replaced with the full path to the
file
Notes: If you power-on your RSR200 using the tasks, add a 5 seconds
(minimum) delay, so that the RSR200 has time to start and register with
the PC.
RSR200 Installation Instructions
General
In any case, make sure that RSR200 firmware version 223 or newer is installed.
For this:
1. Install HDSDR
2. Download the "Current Firmware V... with ExtIO and new USB driver" from the Reuter Elektronik Website (https://www.reuter-elektronik.com/html/rsr200.html)
3. Unzip the package and copy the files to "C:\Program Files (x86)\HDSDR"
4. Start HDSDR and select "ExtIO_RSR200B...dll"
5. Click on the "Stop" button in HDSDR
6. Now, follow the instructions in the RSR200 user's manual:
6.1 In the "RSR200 Control" window, click on button "Advanced"
6.2 Set Setting "CLK" to 120 MHz, click button "Set".
6.3 Click on button "Update", then select the *.bit file of the current firmware update, then click on button "Start"
6.4 Wait until update is finished. You have to ensure that the PC stays on until the update is completed.
Windows
Follow the instructions in the Reuter Elektronik user's manual.

Linux
1. Add a USB device rule for the RSR200 to your Linux system.
sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ftdi-ft601.rules
2. Enter this text to 99-ftdi-ft601.rules and save the file:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="0403", ATTR{idProduct}=="601f", GROUP="plugdev", MODE="0660"
3. Reload udev (or restart PC)
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules
sudo udevadm trigger
4. Make sure your user is in plugdev
groups
sudo usermod -aG plugdev $USER
5. lsusb should show the RSR200 similar to this:
Bus 002 Device 009: ID 0403:601f Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT601 32-bit FIFO IC
6. If the device does not appear, try to power-cycle PC and RSR200
